Mini Course Design in under 1 hour
Well – it certainly did it faster and better than I could have achieved with ChatGPT or Claude.ai. In fact, in creating the Storyline course I tried to use the deep research paper mentioned below to generate elements of the course and that was not exactly successful. But Rise’s AI ‘knows’ course design so this output was pretty amazing.
Were there errors? Not really. I know the material well enough to skim through for QA. The one question I had I queried back to Claude.ai to fact check against both the research paper (which itself is based on vetted resources) and then a second online query. Both returned the same result; my concern was unfounded. I was the one in error 🙃.
As a result – this is what I learned. For a quick Rise ‘reading and light interaction’ course all I needed to do was:
- Create a deep research prompt for Gemini, qualifying the resources it was allowed to query.
- Prep: 15-20 minutes.
- Wait time – maybe 10-15 minutes.
- Create doc time – 10 minutes. *Now I have a well formatted, downloadable reference doc as well.
- Use the Create with AI function in Rise start creating the new course, adding the research paper as a reference document
- Prep: < 5 minutes
- Wait time: < 10 minutes
- Branding and title image upload: 5 minutes
