genAI Reminded Me To Code
When I discovered that there is quite a bit more that I remember about coding than I thought it started to become an obsession. At first it was to create some cool interactions for my Root Delight project/business. Then it got deeper and, like when I first discovered MidJourney, not only was it (is it) creating considerable tailwind underneath the wings of dreams I long felt lost – but it is also offering me the opportunity to share a very practical set of skills with others.
I work mainly across GPT-5, Claude.ai, and Gemini – each to their strengths but also to cross-check results. MidJourney has reentered my life after a bit of prompting perfection overload.
From bits for Root Delight to a full blown customized companion planting guide (publicly shareable) to my own personal morning tracker (more on this to come) I am both able to execute on ideas I could not have just a few months ago. Here’s the caveat about why the projects are “human” – the required identifying concept based on practical needs & I knew the programming language well enough to understand what to ask for, how to troubleshoot WITH the AI (not just saying fix this but pointing out where the errors were in the syntax).
Its the same way with MidJourney – though I am far from wishing to create the intricate prompts that are required to create photoshop on steroids level images – it at least is helping me create some images that are useful and, honestly, just like people use mood boards or vision boards, it helps me keep things in perspective …even when trying to create my own learning products (which I love) feels more like this. ๐
More to come. While I still am cautious of the overt optimism of gen AI when it offers a solution and posits all the reasons why it is perfect – I often am still able to achieve my goals through critical thinking and crafting effective feedback. Note – I say often not always ๐ซค๐. It’s always a party! ๐ฅณ๐
